Merryl E. Werber currently serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, and Controller.

Ms. Werber has been with the Company since 1998 and was appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, and Controller in 2019 after serving as Senior Vice President, Controller since 2017.  Prior to that time, Ms. Werber held numerous positions in the Company including Senior Vice President – Financial, Development and Construction Reporting and Vice President – Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting and Deal Structuring.

Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Werber was a CPA and Audit Manager at Ernst and Young, LLP in the financial services and derivative broker dealer audit and assurance practices in New York City and Los Angeles.  She is a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) in the State of New York (inactive) and has over 30 years of accounting and financial expertise.

Ms. Werber currently serves on the Board or Directors of John Tracy Clinic, a private not for profit education center that provides parent centered services locally and globally to infants and children with hearing loss, founded by the wife of Spencer Tracy 80 years ago.  Ms. Werber also currently serves on the Board of IMBCR, a private not for profit that is dedicated to advancing the treatment of multiple myeloma through scientific research and innovation leading to personal and continuous optimized patient care.  Ms. Werber is also a member of the National Association of Real Estate Trust’s Best Financial Practices Council.

Ms. Werber received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University in 1992, where she was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa leadership society.
