About the Opportunity
This position will play a pivotal role in aligning technology with our strategic objectives, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our operational processes, and driving innovation in industry and most importantly our portfolio of buildings, both operating and in development. This position will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of OT projects while managing a dedicated team of professionals.
This position reports to the Vice President of Technology.

Opportunity Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Engineering).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership role within operational technology or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies, OT systems, industrial control systems, and automation technologies
- Well versed in SDWAN Technologies and managing cloud environments
- Demonstrated experience in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in an OT environment.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., CISSP, PMP) is a plus.
Summary of Responsibilities
The essential function of this position is regular and predictable attendance. The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive OT strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives
- Develop partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for technological advancements to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness within our building portfolio.
- Collaborate with senior management to define the vision for OT initiatives to further the profile of our building assets.
- Team Management
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of OT professionals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Set clear goals and expectations and provide guidance and support to team members.
- OT Project Management
- Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of OT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with property/building teams to define project scope and requirements.
- Monitor project progress and resolve any issues or obstacles that may arise.
- Collaborate with Construction and Development teams on ground up construction projects and redevelopment sites.
- Technology Operations & Integration
- Oversee and manage the building operational network (BON)
- Evaluate and select appropriate OT solutions, technologies, and vendors.
- Implement and integrate OT systems, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Drive the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance operational capabilities.
- Security and Compliance
- Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity measures and policies to protect OT systems from threats.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to OT.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Performance Optimization
- Continuously assess and improve the performance and reliability of OT systems.
- Implement best practices and industry standards for optimizing operational technology.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address any issues.
- Other duties, as assigned.
What we offer
At Kilroy, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within the role. The base pay range for this role is between $126,000 and $133,000 and your base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus as well.
